      Hi

My problem is that I cannoct get the

      "<IMG ALT="*" ALIGN=center SRC="galery_banner.gif" border=0>"

function to work. I have tried everything but still, if I turn off
JAVA in my browsers (OPERA, Mozilla, IE) there is no alternative
picture, just a little placeholder instead. The file
      "galery_banner.gif" is located in the same dir as the html page;

here the html code I used:

We talked on messenger today, I decided to post this earlier for you, then go to the park.
I got a put the Cfade on my page, you can test it by disabling your java in your browser to see how it works.
        http://cmcamper.com/anfy_examples/cfade/fade1.html

Basically I did was add the IMG tag
        <IMG ALT="url goes here if not in folder" ALIGN=center SRC="mypic1_trans_108.gif" border=0>
Since I had the image of handsome me in that anfy folder, I didn't need to add the URL in that tag to go to a >http://mypicture.com<

Then next I altered the tag to get java and just made that a link to a page, my home page.
        <A HREF="If'>http://cmcamper.com"><center>If you see my picture<br>You don't have Java<br>or it's disabled<br>If you see the<br>Fade show<br>You have Java on<br>And running<br>Click Here</center></A>

        The original tag was:
        Please <A HREF="download'>http://www.anfyteam.com/java/">download Java(tm)</A>

I added a <center></center> tag to make it work better
Hope this helps you, if not get back.
        Ron

I seen your alt picture. What you can do is just put the message CLICK HERE for those who see it so the text isn't so much. Mine was just an example, or just link the picture to a url by clicking the picture.
The link went to a page that was not done it seems.
I tried my link again, and seen it fine.
Did you go into internet options and security and disable the java?
When I do i see the alt image, when it is active I see the fade applet.

I am starting to think it might be a browser issue (ignoring the tags
              when JAVA is turned off)

I have uploaded both versions (object & aplet) to a server.
It is a slideshow applet running (three pictures). If you disable JAVA
there "should" be an alternative still picture (brownish color)

              http://www.turbo1uz.com/etc/testobject.html (object tag)

              http://www.turbo1uz.com/etc/test1.html (applet tag)

If I turn off JAVA in Mozilla, Netscape and Opera, I get nothing at all. In
IE I sometimes (strange) see the alt.gif
Also it seems that the testobject.html (object tag)displays the alternative
picture (alt.gif) but then with JAVA enabled the applet wont run.
Whereas with the test1.html (applet tag) the applet runs but there is no
              alternative picture dispayed.

              I am puzzled.
Do you think it could actually be a browser related problem ??

              Cheers

I am starting to think it might be a browser issue (ignoring the tags
                when JAVA is turned off)

I have uploaded both versions (object & aplet) to a server.
It is a slideshow applet running (three pictures). If you disable JAVA
there "should" be an alternative still picture (brownish color)

                http://www.turbo1uz.com/etc/testobject.html (object tag)

                http://www.turbo1uz.com/etc/test1.html (applet tag)

If I turn off JAVA in Mozilla, Netscape and Opera, I get nothing at all. In
IE I sometimes (strange) see the alt.gif

                Cheers

What browsers did you use to test it ?

Here is what I get with different browsers (selectiong the object link):

                  Firefox 1.0.2 on=applet fails, off=alt.gif appears (ok)
                  IE6.0.2900 on=alt.gif appears ( ok) off=alt.gif appears ( not
                  ok )
                  Opera7.54u2 on=applet loads ok off=nothing appears (not
                  ok )
                  Netcsape0.9.6 on=applet fails off=noyhing appears

Something seems to be very wrong here. Does the code look Ok ?

I can't see the first applet--just the still image.
I can see the second applet.

I'm using Win XP and MSIE 6...Sue

With Java turned off the alt picture is the same on both pages for me. With java turned on, both pages display the applet running just fine for me. It looks ok

I am starting to think it might be a browser issue (ignoring the tags
                      when JAVA is turned off)

I have uploaded both versions (object & aplet) to a server.
It is a slideshow applet running (three pictures). If you disable JAVA
there "should" be an alternative still picture (brownish color)

                      http://www.turbo1uz.com/etc/testobject.html (object tag)

                      http://www.turbo1uz.com/etc/test1.html (applet tag)

If I turn off JAVA in Mozilla, Netscape and Opera, I get nothing at all. In
IE I sometimes (strange) see the alt.gif
Also it seems that the testobject.html (object tag)displays the alternative
picture (alt.gif) but then with JAVA enabled the applet wont run.
Whereas with the test1.html (applet tag) the applet runs but there is no
                      alternative picture dispayed.

                      I am puzzled.
Do you think it could actually be a browser related problem ??

                      Cheers

Like I was saying with IE6 and using XP PRO SP2 it all works fine when I view both pages.
Maybe netscape settings for that browser has issues and same with opera and firefox.
In the Anfy section under FAQ and Bug Reports sometimes the software used can cause image errors. I copied and pasted what it said about netscape:
                        ==================================================================
                        - Some browsers ( particularly Netscape ) cannot read certain GIF and JPG files in Java applets. The Java Console will indicate which file(s) are causing the problem.
You can solve this problem by re-saving the file in another application.
Paint Shop Pro seems to write standard images that do not create problems. And be sure to name the image without spaces inside.

                        - Don't save .JPG images from Adobe PhotoShop 4 with "thumbnail" option enabled, because some Java implementations (Netscape 3) will not be able to read them. Disable thumbnail feature or use PhotoShop 3
                        ==========================================================

What browsers did you use to test it ?

Here is what I get with different browsers (selectiong the object link):

                        Firefox 1.0.2 on=applet fails, off=alt.gif appears (ok)
                        IE6.0.2900 on=alt.gif appears ( ok) off=alt.gif appears ( not
                        ok )
                        Opera7.54u2 on=applet loads ok off=nothing appears (not
                        ok )
                        Netcsape0.9.6 on=applet fails off=noyhing appears

Something seems to be very wrong here. Does the code look Ok ?
