These ships working their way up the Mississippi River may be stopping at a River city near you on their way to Hudson WI.
One the ships was built for the movie 1492.  Built by the Columbus Foundation information is on line at   "theNina.com".

This week the ships will be in Winona MN, where there is a maritime art museum.  They will be sailing across
Lake Pepin to Lake City, MN the first week of August.

A fellow dressed in period costume from the Historical Society was at the arrival on the town waterfront Thursday.  A new
addition to the Historical Museum has recently opened and is a treat to see.   Collections are varied and begin with Natural
History exhibits, to present times.  It is the home of Winona canoes and the first plug to make canoes is one of the exhibits.

The ships were built in Brazil out of native hardwoods and the volunteer crew took on new members in Peoria. IL as they
      came down the Illinois River.

This crewmember from Peoria and his three sons joined the crew instead of taking their annual
motorcycle ride.  He said they met the Lewis and Clark boat "Discovery" coming down the river
near St. Louis, which was an amazing site to see in the river Fog.  Arrival in Lake City will be on
August 2nd and stay there until the 4th.
