    Dear Susan;
    Thanks kindly for the link and excellent information. Attached is a photo of the Cahokia Mounds Wedding Goblets, and matching traditional wedding Vase. Certainly intriguing about the Legend of the Little People. I would be interested in the book that Sitting Owl is generously sharing with us.

    Vince,

    What an honor, indeed to have received an original matching set of Victoria McKinney goblets and vase w/Cahokia birdman symbol for your wedding.   You, Shari, and your Historiography of Cahokia research obviously also inspired the author.

    All,   I see the Jacobson House Native Art Center where the exhibit Vince sent the link to, "Spiroinspirations" -- The Art Work of Victoria McKinney will be held in Norman, Oklahoma.  I'll sure more than I here would love to attemd the Aug. 14th reception to meet the author and see more of her work.

    I wonder if any of the oldtimers at Ancient Waterways noticed two photos of paintings on the poster Vince sent..."Little People" and "They Came With Us".  An earlier site for an earlier exhibition descrobes the theme behind the "They CameWith Us" painting:
    "Even with being forced to leave the bones of the ancestors, their homes and most of their possessions, they carried their beliefs with them. The 'Little People' being a part of that belief system, came with them."  from: http://www.victoria mckinney. com/theycame. php
