      FILM FESTIVAL UPDATES

      - What a Job by Omar Saleh & Mohammad Abu Jarad and I am Ready by Omar
      Saleh has been selected to MESA 2008 Film Festival, USA

      - What a Job has been selected to the International Film Festival of
      Salerno, Italy

      - Smile, You are in South Lebanon by Cooperative alumnus Dalia Alkury
      wins Bronze Award at the Carthage Film Festival.

      - The View by Hazim Bitar & Rifqi Assaf has been selected to the
      Golden Taghit Film Festival, Algeria. To date, the View has won
      Audience Choice Award for Best Short Film at The Franco-Arab Film
      Festival; Best Short Film (75000) at the Middle East Int'l Film
      Festival; Special Mention for Best Script at the Jordan Short Film
      Festival.

      - Pummelo, produced by Cooperative alumnus Aseel Mansour and
      co-directed by Aseel Mansour and Yehya Alabdallah has been selected to
      the Dubai Int'l Film Festival.

      - From Nowhere with Love, a feature script project by Hazim Bitar, has
      been selected for the EAVE 2007 and 2008 follow-up session at the
      Dubai Int'l Film Festival.

      NO GOOD JORDANIAN SHORT FILMS, GOVERNMENT SAYS

      At the Jordanian government annual gala recognizing achievements of
      Jordanians in various fields, the award for Best Short Film has been
      withheld due to the poor quality of submitted Jordanian films in 2008.

      SAJEDA ABUSAIF & ALABBAS SA'ED PUT FINAL TOUCHES ON NEW FILM

      Cooperative filmmakers Sajeda Abousaif and Alabbas Sa'ed put the final
      touches on a short fiction film about a young girl who is eager to
      grow up. This is the second short film for both directors, graduates
      of Hope Films workshops, focusing on childhood themes. Their first
      short film, Free to Fly, has been selected to the Jordan Short Film
      Festival and the San Francisco Arab Film Festival.
