Normal … here … don’t expect it, but you’ll get some good conversation sometimes.

I am new as of yesterday, so I am hoping I did not cause any problems when I signed up - I am a student of communications looking for a good communication forum.  It sounds like this email chain is abnormal for the forum.  So, since I am new, will someone please let me know what people "normally" discuss?

      Thanks!

BUT it was a good way to finally get people talking.

Earl offers one explanation for what happened.  It might not be the
only explanation, but first, I have no reason to contradict his
explanation, and second, the alternative explanations I can imagine
lead to the same result and the same likely response.  In short,
Earl's explanation is at least close enough.

Unfortunately, this will happen from time to time.  One piece of spam
does not mean the list is "out of control" or that we have become a
site for meeting women online.  It simply means that some way, some
      how, a spammer got through.
