Hi Janet,
Thank you for your interest in the approved vendor list for GS NorCal. Attached is the current approved vendor list. Below is more information for the process of having a vendor approved for a high-risk event. I hope this helps.
Approved Vendors for High Risk Activities
For the safety of our members, the council must approve vendors for High Risk Activities before a troop uses the site for a troop or Service Unit event. This policy is to ensure a safe experience for our members.
- The attached spreadsheet for approved vendors includes facilities and vendors that are approved by the council for use of High Risk activities.
- These facilities/vendors have met the safety and insurance guidelines for Girl Scouts of Northern California.
- For a facility and vendor to be listed as an “approved vendor” they must meet the safety and insurance guidelines for Girl Scouts of Northern California which include the following:
- Comply with Safety Wise regulations by completing the Safety Wise Checklist for the related activity
- Facilities and vendors must supply council with a Certificate of Liability for one million dollars or more naming Girl Scouts of Northern California as Additionally Insured.
- In exchange, Girl Scouts of Northern California will list the site as additional insured on our Certificate of Liability
- Troops are NOT limited to these facilities or vendors.
- If you find a site that you would like to use for an event we will work with them to make them an approved vendor.
- In these situations, please forward the following information to Lizzie Ruybal at lruybal@...
i. Contact name for the trip
ii. Contact for the venue
iii. Contact information for the venue including phone number
iv. Possible dates for the trip.
- Once we receive this information, we will work with the facility/vendor to become an approved vendor for GS NorCal.
- Please allow at least two weeks for approving a new vendor. This is not a fast process and we are at the mercy of the facility/vendor on when or if this will be approved and completed.
- If a facility/vendor refuses to follow the safety and insurance guidelines for Girl Scouts of Northern California then unfortunately, we will not be able to endorse this facility/vendor on our approved vendor list.
Approved Vendor Spreadsheet Layout
- Approved Vendor tab – this is a list of vendors that are approved. Please pick a vendor from this list.
- Pending Vendor Tab – This is a list of vendors we are in the process of approving. For a variety of reasons, they have not been officially approved yet. the status is listed on the left side of each facility/vendor.

Online Approved Vendor List
We are working on creating a way for this section of the web site to be updated regularly by the Program Assistants. Once this process is finalized, we will post the vendor list online. We hope to have this list added to the web site and regularly updated the next month. Until the list is posted, please use the attached document or contact Angela Hummingbird at ahummingbird@... for a list of approved vendors in the activity of your interest. Once this information is online, we will send an email blast to all service units.
Thank you,
Melanie
