Brief Observing Session
- When I got home from supper this evening, it was 55°, clear, and an almost non-existant 7 mph wind from the east. Time for the scope on the driveway!
The gibbous Moon dominated the sky, so that's where I spent most of my time. Three of Jupiter's Galilean moons were visible, and Venus' phase was only a less gibbous than the Moon's.
The highlight of the evening was M42 in Orion. Despite the bright Moon, I could see six stars in the trapezium!
This was my first time to use the scope since last November -- it was fun.
