      RESEARCH:ITALIAN-AMERICAN SCIENTIST WINS MEDITERRANEAN PRIZE

(ANSAmed) - NAPLES, JANUARY 22 - It's called MagnegasTm, it's clean fuel and it's obtained from sewage such as city waste water and mud from sewers. It was discovered by the Italian-American Ruggero Maria Santilli, one of the most famous scientists in the world, who is also the President Institute for Basic Research in Florida. Professor Santilli received today the "Mediterranean Prize for Science and Research" in Naples for this discovery, honour bestowed upon him by the Mediterranean Foundation in collaboration with the Futuridea Association, which is chaired by the former President of the Benevento Province, Carmine Nardone. "The treatment of sewage", stated Professor Santilli "is ultimately aimed at its sterilisation and at obtaining clean, cheap gaseous fuel. This is all achieved thanks to a set of conditions very similar to those found in the sun's chromosphere". Professor Santilli, upon initiative from the Futuridea Association, is holding a series of seminars in Italy, which launched on Monday in Benevento and which focus on "New technology applied to ecology and competitiveness". During these events, which will finish in Bari tomorrow, Santilli illustrates the theoretical and technical scenarios which result from the research he is carrying out and which has made him famous in the most innovative industrial sectors of many countries.
