This group exchanges information, ideas, tips, techniques about altered books. discussion of altered paper arts that are similar to altered books (like ATCs and tip-ins) is welcomed... but our focus remains on books and techniques that work with books.

DEFINITION: An altered book is an existing book that has been changed or altered.... "glued, painted, collaged, rubber stamped, cut, torn, or added to. It is an expression of one's self, a piece of art, an experiment or a conversation piece."

Pages of members' work are posted in the Files (see the TAB at top of page). Files uploaded by members are copyrighted and belong solely to the artist member. In the Files are such topics as How To Alter A Book, How to Begin AB, Tips for Altering, etc. PLEASE READ THE FAQ'S IN THE FILES BEFORE POSTING MESSAGES TO THE LIST
