  • I have a question about DB book editions. Is there a case where poems were added or deleted in later editions of his many books? I know there are places where dedications were sometimes adjusted, but are there changes to the poems presented or has anyone noted changes to the poems themselves, or even addition or deletion of artwork that went with the poetry? thanks! Aloha larry

It always catches my eye when I see it on the late late show... Larry

  • I would like to take this oppurtunity to wish all on this mailing list all the best on Lei day tomorrow. It's not often that you find a person who created a holiday without having to die to do it. This day is filled with memories of growong up in Hawaii and participating in school "May Day pageants", each class would put together a performance and there was a may day king and queen...

It's probably been mentioned, but I didn't know that pop artist Jimmy Buffett did an album titled Floridays. He read and was impressed with DB's work and did two songs on the album related to his poetry. Not really earthshaking work, but nice to have. Especially if you're a fan of both...

Although individual poets usually have favorite styles in which their most famous works were executed, it is not unusual to find that they experimented with other styles somewhere along the line. Is there...

  • I am not sure if they are still in operation, I assume they are. They keep a shelf of Blanding books and I recall writing them once and getting a nice biographical brochure about Blanding and his life. The owners must be real Blanding buffs.. I wonder if they know about this list? Has anyone ever had dealings with them? As I recall, they were right in downtown Hilo and saw a lot of...

  • I'm here... Any group has its slow months... I am in several and they ebb and flow like almost anything in life... Not everyone in the group is a potential Blanding biographer...maybe some non-Biography discussion would encourage others who simply enjoy DBs poems and writing to post stuff up without feeling like we need to always be in the minutae of DBs life... That's my story and...
