[aloha-donblanding] Re: Talk and Chat features
- Keith, thanks for the "talk" tonight. It was nice to hear a real live
voice to match with the e-mail addy and messages. Let's hope the
request I put in for a copy of the 1937 thesis about Blanding pans out.
Folks, do try "Talk" -- it takes a little getting used to, and you may
revert to Navy flyer or CB lingo, but it's fun and a great way to
compare notes. You may want to set a specific time and post it on the
Calendar, or just open an extra window, turn on your sound, and see who
turns up on the message board. By the way, you can use it to yak with
your family or friends; the participants do not have to be eGroups
members. Ditto the chat room...both features are there for you to use
whenever you wish.
Note: Just re-reading the Petroglyph hand-out, which does contain some
inaccuracies. But it does say:
"That year [1926 after publication of Flowers of the Rainbow] Blanding
sailed to California, there building in Hollywood his first 'vagabond's
house,' where his life style copied the Hawaiian informality he had
come to love."
Enough for tonight...
