After the Aunty Pinau piece runs this Sunday, I'll be focusing on another person in Honolulu. This will be Chin Chong, the Chinese candle maker. He and DB were friends. Depending on the reception of the Pinau piece, I might be able to convince the Bulletin to run a few more feature stories. We'll see what happens. I own original brochures of Blanding/Chin Chong and am looking at the Chinese influences on DB and his early work up through the publishing of Vagabond's House in 1928. tj
