Hi Kathryn,

Although I have met Ally Sheedy, I don't really know her so I doubt I could be of much help. But here are some things I took away from our experience working with her on "Steamroom."

 

Ally, who lives in NY,  rescued a Greyhound dog a few months ago. His name is Skyler and he is the most gentle creature you could ever want to meet. We never missed an opportunity to pet him. She brought him along because she was away from home and missed her daughter like crazy. Ally was very maternal towards my son. She always made sure he had hand warmers and was comfortable. I remember her coming up to me one day and suggesting I ask wardrobe for some thermals for Zach because the following day was going to be an outdoor scene. Whether it was inbetween scenes or during scenes, I really appreciated that my son was in such great hands. 

 

Backing up a bit Ally met us in the hotel sitting area the night we arrived at the Hyatt in New Brunswick. She requested to meet with Zach that night because she knew that had an intense scene together the next day and she wanted him to feel comfortable with her first rather than just saying hi and then going right into a scene where they have tension. She didn't want it to be awkward for him. That was how we started out with Ally. As it turns out, she was a considerate and professional person to work with from beginning to end. Zach told me when they had scenes together he would look in her eyes and really believe she was feeling what her character was supposed to feel. Overall, working with her was a great acting lesson.
