      2014 ARCE-NC Student Grants

      The Board of Directors of the Northern California Chapter of the American Research Center in Egypt
      is offering three grants of $250 each to qualified students. The cutoff date for application is
      December 31, 2013, with the grants to be awarded at our January 19, 2014 meeting on the U. C.
      Berkeley campus.

      To qualify for this grant you must be a student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
      that includes courses examining aspects of ancient, medieval, or modern Egypt, such as a BA in
      Egyptology, archaeology, or ancient history at a Northern California college or university (Monterey
      Bay area to the Northern California border). Proof of enrollment may be required before the grant is
      presented. Applicants are to give us a /brief/ summary of their area of study and how they will use
      the grant. Grants will be awarded based on merit. In case of a tie, awards will be made by a random
      draw from the qualified applicants.

      Winners are asked to attend the January 19th lecture to accept their grant in person unless travel
      to Berkeley presents a hardship.
