The Birmingham Museum of Art is the largest municipal art museum in the
Southeast and this year it is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The museum
is home to a nationally-recognized permanent collection of over 21,000
works of art dating from 3000 B.C. to the present. For The Record looks at
the museum, it’s holdings and the 50 years of history of the museum.
