Organizational Meeting: The Consortium on Georgia History
All those interested in forming a Consortium on Georgia History are
invited to an organizational meeting following the Georgia Association
of Historians annual meeting at Albany State University, April 15, 2000.
The meeting will follow the GAH luncheon.
The new Consortium could
--promote collaboration among departments of history and the various
centers for Georgia Studies around the state.
--encourage research in Georgia history through sponsorship of an
--foster a greater sense of community among practitioners of Georgia
history throughout the state.
This initiative is NOT intended to compete with existing centers for
Georgia History. It IS an effort to bring such centers and history
departments together for collaborative efforts related to Georgia
history whenever possible.
Please join us for this meeting to discuss this important initiative.
