Arts in Education Program Manager, Diana Green, interviews Diana Van Fossen of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Diana is the wife of artistic director, Geoffrey Sherman and is an accomplished actor and director in her own right. In this interview she discusses her process in the direction of Much Ado About Nothing, The Trojan Women and her current direction of To Kill a Mockingbird. Diana Van Fossen traveled to England on a post graduate Thomas J Watson Fellowship, and then studied for the stage at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Her teacher,Kathleen Stafford, had acting students voice English poetry from Chaucer to the moderns so that they would have experienced every sound possible in the English language.Diana performed with London's Royal Shakespeare Company, in films and TV as well as Off-Broadway and in leading roles with regional theatres. She is a seven season ASF Associate Artist where she played Lettice Duffet in Lettice and Lovage and is currently directing To Kill A Mockingbird for the Festival Stage.
