CIVIL WAR DIARIES AND LETTERS COLLECTION

The CIVIL WAR DIARIES AND LETTERS COLLECTION is now available online via the AUBURN UNIVERSITY DIGITAL LIBRARY.

This collection consists of diaries and collections of letters from the Civil War era found in the Special Collections and Archives Department, located on the GROUND FLOOR of the Ralph Brown Draughon Library. The diaries offer a unique look into the lives of common soldiers, spies and even a bodyguard of Abraham Lincoln. Letters include both private and official correspondence. Correspondents in the latter group include Rufus King and Ulysses S. Grant. Transcripts are provided for each handwritten page.

The CIVIL WAR DIARIES AND LETTERS COLLECTION is located by visiting the Auburn University Libraries homepage
      ( http://www.lib.auburn.edu/ )
and then clicking on the "Digital Collections"  (http://diglib.auburn.edu/ ) link located in the lower central part of the homepage under the "Quick Links" heading.  Click on the "Browse Collections" link  (http://diglib.auburn.edu/browsecollections.php ) to then get to the CIVIL WAR DIARIES AND LETTERS COLLECTION .
