      Dear Educator,

The Alabama Department of Archives and History is offering FREE classroom sets of The Alabama Guide, published in 2009There are approximately 160 sets of 32 copies of The Alabama Guide that will be available to you to be picked up at the Archives.  The first 241 pages offers students an easily read, illustrated history of Alabama and will be invaluable to schools that have limited resources and textbooks.  The second half of the book contains information about  Alabama state government at the time of publication.  The reading level is more appropriate for high school students, but elementary students will enjoy exploring the history of Alabama through historic photographs.

Please complete this form to reserve your set.  This is FIRST COME-FIRST SERVED.  If you have not picked up your set of books by  the scheduled date, we will make them available to another school. (Limit:  ONE set per school.)

      Sincerely,
Alabama Department of Archives and History
