      Linda Kenney Miller has written Beacon on the Hill, a historical novel based on the life of her grandfather Dr. John A. Kenney, a pioneer of health care for Blacks in Tuskegee and the nation. Dr. Kenney was the personal physician to Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver, helped found John Andrew Hospital in Tuskegee, founded and edited the Journal of the National Medical Association for 32 years and authored the encyclopedic, The Negro in Medicine (1912).
