      **Birmingham Music Club retrospective:
      A century's worth of performance in the Magic City has been condensed
      into a single volume, thanks to historians at the Birmingham Music Club.
      Janis Zeanah and Jeanne Bradford have put together "The Birmingham Music
      Club: A Centennial Retrospective," a year-long project of interviews and
      photo recollections. It outlines the Music Club's presentation of
      concerts from Paderewski to Christopher O'Riley, Fritz Kreisler to Mark
      O'Connor.
      The booklet is available from BMC Guild President Martha Schoel at
      313-1121. The $7 cost covers first-class mailing. It will be also be
      available at the Guild's fundraising gala on Feb. 2 at the Birmingham
      Country Club.
