      Choice Magazine, the publication of the Association of College and
      Research Libraries, has named Auburn University Professor James R.
      Hansen's book "First Man:  The Life of Neil A. Armstrong" as its
      Outstanding Academic Book for 2006.
       
      Hansen's award will be presented at the ALA midwinter meeting and the
      Association of Colleges & Research Libraries Conference in Seattle,
      Wash., today through Wednesday.
       
      "First Man" spent three weeks on The New York Times berstseller list and
      has won two other major awards.  The film rights to it belong to Warner
      Brothers and Malpaso productions.  Clint Eastwood has expressed interest
      in making a film based on it.
       
      The Association of College & Research Libraries is a subsidiary of the
      American Library Association, the oldest and largest library association
      in the world, with more than 64,000 members.
