      Huntsville Times Sunday, April 24, 2005
      Author Diane McWhorter, winner of the 2002 Pulitzer Prize in nonfiction
      for "Carry Me Home," will discuss her work Thursday [April 28] evening
      in Ridley Hall, Episcopal Church of the Nativity, 208 Eustis Ave.
      Sponsored by the Huntsville Literary Association, her talk will focus on
      political analysis and the process of researching and writing.

      Light refreshments will be served at 7 p.m. followed by McWhorter's
      talk. The event is open to the public free of charge.

      McWhorter, a native of Birmingham, is a renowned journalist who
      contributes regularly to The New York Times and USA Today. She is
      currently researching and writing a book about Huntsville. For more

      ** Alabama encyclopedia editors will speak
      MADISON - The editors of the forthcoming "Encyclopedia of Alabama" will
      address the Madison Historic and Preservation Society at the Round House
      on the village green in downtown Madison Thursday [April 28] at 7 p.m.

      The encyclopedia will be a comprehensive, online reference work on
      Alabama's history, culture, geography and natural environment. Planned
      for launch in 2007, it will be available through the Internet.

      The discussion is part of the Auburn University Center of Arts and
      Humanities 2005 Draughon Seminars. Admission is free.
