Page and Palette Bookstore presents Norman Jetmundsen, Jr. reading and signing his latest Christian novel, "The Soulbane Illusion", on Friday evening, May 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The reading will take place in the bookstore's upstairs reading room located at 32 South Section Street, Fairhope.
In this gripping novel, successful Atlanta attorney, Cade Bryson, allows work to become his god. He makes little time for his wife, Rachael, and daughter, Sarah. Ten years before, in the ancient city of Oxford, he discovered letters and reports from two devilish characters, but has failed to deliver on his promise to publish them, virtually forgetting the reports. His seemingly idyllic world is shattered as his life begins to unravel on several fronts, and in the strange world he encounters, nothing is as it appears. With many unexpected twists, the novel's characters each confront their own crises, and the plot races toward a climatic encounter between Cade and his nemeses, Foulheart and Soulbane.
Not faint praise come from England's "The Oxford Times" as it printed "For fans of the 'Screwtape Letters' and its sequel 'Screwtape Proposes a Toast', it takes a welcome step along a route well defined by C.S. Lewis. I do not think the great Christian author would be disappointed."
The author of "The Soulbane Stratagem" and "The Soulbane Illusion", Norman Jetmundsen, Jr., is an attorney with Vulcan Materials Company in Birmingham, Alabama. He graduated from the University of the South, in Sewanee, Tennessee, where he majored in English literature. He then obtained his law degree from The University of Alabama. Subsequently, thanks to a Rotary International Scholarship, he attended Magdalen College, Oxford, where he completed a M.Litt. in Law. Norman and his wife, Kelli, have triplet sons. They attend St. Luke's Episcopal Church . For more information on the book or the event, contact Page & Palette at (251)928-5295.
