This is an annoucement of an exhibit of works of art by Alabama artists at
the Rosa Parks Museum in Montgomery. The themes come from Alabama history
and culture, and will be interpreted through various lenses. Hardy Jackson
is doing a commentary on April 12. Leona Stemple will be making comments on
April 26th. Another interesting perspective will be done by professional
singer-songwriter Kate Campbell who has a B.A. in history from Samford and
an M.A. from Auburn where she was a student of Wayne Flynt's. Kate is the
musical curator for this exhibit and will speak and perform on May 3rd.
Kate's music is very much rooted in the history, culture and literary
traditions of the South. Her music has been influenced by folk, Southern
rock, and gospel. Tickets for Kate's performance will be $10. Other events
are free. For additional information call Georgette Norman at the Rosa Parks
      Museum at (334) 241-8608.
