                                      Alabama Writer Releases 1st Novel

Mystery writer and playwright Bill Stackhouse is pleased to announce the release of Stream of Death, the first book in his Ed McAvoy Mystery Series.

Blending the harder and softer elements of the mystery genre, the series is set in Peekamoose Heights, a fictitious village deep in New York's Catskills. The protagonist is Ed McAvoy, the village Chief of Police.  As a former homicide captain with the Detroit Police Force who has been given a medical retirement after being severely wounded in the line of duty, McAvoy finds that his investigative skills will not atrophy from lack of use on his new job.

In Stream of Death, the famed Isabela Pendant disappears amid a hail of machine-pistol bullets during the closing days of WWII in Sicily. When it temporarily resurfaces in Detroit after fifty-some years, six people are murdered. Now, four years later, a dog has dug it up in the woods near McAvoy's peaceful Catskill village of Peekamoose Heights.

Bill Stackhouse is employed as a scriptwriter for a multimedia production firm and is currently polishing the next book in the Ed McAvoy Mystery Series, Hickory, Dickory. He and his wife have reside in North Alabama.

Stream of Death is available through local bookstores. The first three Chapters may be downloaded from Bill's website at: http://www.billstackhouse.com
