You are invited to attend the 15th annual Capitol City Shape Note Singing to
be held Thursday, July 19, 2001 at Old Alabama Town in the historic Grange
Hall (300 block of North Hull Street) in downtown Montgomery. The singing
will begin at 10 a.m. and wind up about 2:30 p.m. There will be a lunch
break at noon, providing singers an opportunity to picnic under the grape
arbor. The singing features the four shape note hymnals currently published
in Alabama, which are The Sacred Harp (Denson Revision), The Sacred Harp
(Cooper Revision), The Colored Sacred Harp and The Christian Harmony. For
more information call the Alabama Center for Traditional Culture (334)
      242-3601.
