      Dear All:

I have a set of atmospheric pollution samples data which have been
obtained from a coal mine-industrial belt area. The samples are very
losely catagorised into three seasons- Summer, Post moonson and winter. In
each season the sampling is done using standard technique at
approximately around the same time for a number of pollutant like NOx,SO2,SPM.

The spatial extent is about 16x16 km and there are around 20 samples
arbitrarily distributed in space. Primarily I have to spatially
interpolate the data and give a risk estimate for each pollutant
      crossing there individual cutoff.

I like to know the following:

      1) Is it possible to use techniques such as ordinary kriging &
indicator kriging for interpolation in space. Can this be done without
taking the air flow pattern, time into account? Does this by any chance
      violate any hypothesis of geostatistics.

      2) The number of samples I have are quite few, The semivariograms
I am getting are not "rich in the number of pairs" and "reliable". Is
there any means that I can improve the reliability of the semivariogram. Is
it somehow possibile to stochastically enhance the picture (say by using
      multigaussian si,ulation).

I really appreciate if someone can help me with the problem as I am not an
atmospheric scientist. I would really appreciate any reference on similar
topics of geostatistical application. Reprints or information on online
      documents are solicited.

      thanking you in advance
      with warm regards

      Sumit Dhar
