INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMENTAL MODELING AND
      SIMULATION

      *****************************
      C A L L F O R P A P E R S
      *****************************

The SCS (The Society for Computer Simulation International)
Environment 2000 conference provides a forum for the exchange
      of
concepts, methods and technologies among scientists committed
      to the
modeling and simulation of the environment. The goal of the
conference is to promote the applications of computer based
      models and
simulations to a fully international constituency, as the
      prime tool
for use in planning, implementing and monitoring a
      sustainable future
      for the environment.

The conference will focus on the modeling and simulation of
      various
components of the environmental systems in different scales
      (as in
atmosphere and oceans, hydrological processes, biochemical
      and
biological cycles, air quality, impacts of human activities,
      and
socioeconomic impacts). An additional emphasis will be on the
applications of information technologies in visualizations
      and
gathering/distribution of simulation results and observations
      to an
      international constituency.

      Environment researchers, simulations modelers, GIS/remote
      sensing
experts, and visualization specialists are encouraged to
      submit papers
in, but not limited to, the following topics:

o Modeling and Simulation Techniques including Numerical
      Aspects,
      Software Implementation and Visualization Tools
      o Decision Support Systems
      o Climate Modeling
o Global Pollution and Global Climate Change
o Pollution: Air, Water, Soil, Noise, Radiation
      o Air Quality Management
      o Transboundary Air Pollution Modeling
      o Traffic and Emission Modeling
o Ground Water, Surface Water, and Watershed Modeling
      o Biochemical and Biological Modeling
o Biological Systems (Population Systems, Growth Models)
o Environmental Accidents and Risk Management
      o Environmental Systems: Meteorology, Micrometerology,
      Hydrology
      o Economy-Energy Modeling
o Sustainable Development and Integrated Assessment
      Modeling
      o Socioeconomic-environmental Impacts
o Remote Sensing, Satellite Data and Image Processing
      (Applications
      in Environmental Modeling)
o Geographic Information Systems (Applications in
      Environmental
      Modeling)

A short abstract should be submitted to the Program Chair by
      August
      31. Please include your name, affiliation, mailing address,
      telephone
number, fax number and e-mail address. Electronic submission
      of the
abstracts and proposals as plain ASCII text files is
      encouraged.
Draft manuscripts may also be submitted electronically, but
      should
then be sent as compressed and unencoded postscript files.
