  • Cross Posted Last year we gave a workshop at UxLx , which was a huge success. This year we have opened an office in Lisbon . By coincidence we will be training staff at the same time in remote usability methods, so we have decided to open our doors to anybody who is intersted and around. The two workshops coincide with this years UxLx conference and will be held in the afternoon...

  • I think Paul Cairn of the University of York in the UK explains the issue....in his The Ghosts of Departed Qualities, The practice of developing an HCI module The problem with HCI is that it is a design discipline not a science. So making statements that have some universal, non-contingent, falsifiable nature is challenging. and he goes on to say UCD cannot guarantee improved...

  • --UPDATE-- Since the event sold out overnight, UXBrighton have changed venues and added more tickets - there are now more available . Even if you are not based in Brighton in the UK it will worth while to come along, as it is free, and Brighton is very easy to get to. Gatwick Airport is only 30 mins away, with many low cost airlines flying there. London is only an hour away. 2009/9...

Hotelling's model would say that what is best for the user of the software is not necessarily best for the business. The more competition there is the more aligned the customer and users needs are. But if...
