          Hi.
I've just joined the group and I must confess that I know next to
nothing about african music other than liking the little I hear the
odd times it gets played on TV/radio. I'm bored to death with most
of the bland, souless western music about and I would like to listen
          to something different.

Can anyone suggest a good CD to start with please - possibly a
collection of good african music by different artists that might
give me somewhere to begin listening to what's out there? Failing
that, some individual artists that you can recommend.

          Cheers

          Mike
