Poppy Seed has been likened to a mix of Erikah Badu and Sade for her jazzy mellow voice and womanwise lyrics. Her band can drive reggae with the toughest of them, the most conscious and the sweetest. Poppy has toured Africa with Mad Professor and throughout Jamaica in her own right . She's won cultural awards and is much in demand for her inspirational and mentoring work. Her album Coming Through is one you must have! Equally at home solo, in a trio or with a 10 piece band, Poppy Seed is one of London's finest emerging artists.
Mosi (Moses) Conde is the nephew of Sekouba 'Bambino' Diabate - Diamond Fingers of Bembeya Jazz and members of his extended family are the backbone of Salif Keita. Alpha Blondy and Mory Kante's bands to name a small sample.
Still only just 27 he has 12 years of professional touring to his name and played kora from about 6 as is normal in griot families. He's made a big difference to leading global music groups like Soothsayers & Zubop Gambia, has played solo for Nelson Mandela and the Queen, at Womad and top venues and festivals. He plays his own original compositions with a London twist sharing shimmering expertise and flair topped with a melliferous soulful voice. After so much work with and for others (which continues) he is about to make a mark in his own right with a CD out very soon.
