- Nov 1, 2008Meg Ryan is peculiar. The public has dubbed Meg as the Queen
of romantic comedies yet Meg doesn't want to be seen that
way. She tried to change her image by doing other genres
such as dramas. Yet when she does other genres they always
flop in the box office. A number of her romantic comedies
have done much better in the box office. Those dramas flop
because they were not very good movies, her acting however
is as good as always. My impression of Meg is that she
really wants to do romantic comedies above other type of
movies but she doesn't want to be seen as the Queen or as
America's sweetheart or as any other cutesy label. Meg
misses the point that any actor who likes to be romantic and
funny will be loved more than the actor who for example like
to always play as the villain. I also feel that Meg may be
hooked on the Harry met Sally theme. I think all the
romantic comedies she wants to make are variations or
remakes of When Harry Met Sally, but since she can't do the
Harry and Sally theme again she probably struggles to find a
role that she can feel most comfortable with. - Next post in topic >>
