- Performs statistical and analytical research work specific to the Ada
County Sheriff's Office. This position provides expert advice to
management and assists in planning short-term and long-term goals.
The incumbent works with limited supervision and must use a
significant degree of independent judgment during project completion
and must take the initiative to complete assigned tasks. This
position is located in the Planning and Research Unit.
Bachelor's Degree in Police Science, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or
a related research field with coursework in computer sciences,
statistics, and sociology; At least three (3) years of experience in
planning and analysis; One-year experience in a law enforcement
agency preferred; Knowledge of research and analytical techniques;
Knowledge of statistics, statistical methods of tracking and
communicating data, and computer information systems; Knowledge of
techniques and methods of surveying, sampling, compiling data and
analyzing findings to establish and track predictability and
probabilities;Knowledge of methods and techniques of link charts,
association matrices, and graphic presentations; Skill in the
operation of standard personal computers, word processing, Excel,
Access, and S.P.S.S. software programs and law enforcement data
information systems; Ability to prepare accurate and complete written
reports; Ability to interpret and implement policies and practices
and deviate from standard policies when necessary; Ability to
communicate effectively verbally and in writing; Ability to work as a
member of a team to accomplish goals.
The salary range is $37,500-$45,000 annual, DOE. Closes April 27,
