I'm sorry you are so upset and feel you need to retaliate against us. To be quite honest we have never heard of Anvil before. We have been known as Anvil here in the states for the last 8 years. And in those 8 years nobody has ever said there is another band called Anvil. It has only been in the last 3 week that our web site went world wide. In that time we have received 2 e-mails stating that a band in Canada is called Anvil. We have talked to hundreds of people and nobody has ever heard of the band Anvil from Canada. We even had the local heavy rock radio station ask people to call in if they had ever heard of a band from Canada called Anvil. Nobodys heard of them. NOT EVEN THE DJ's.
They might be big in Canada and a few Northern U.S. States but nobody else has heard of them. It strikes me odd that if they are so huge, then why are they so unknown? And why didn't they Trademark their name? We did a U.S. Trademark/copywrite search and there was no such band registered. Thats why we decided to use the name. We trademarked the name Anvil. And as of this month we own it!
It seems that someone in the Anvil camp in Canada dropped the ball on this one and failed to ever register the name. You would think that over the last 20 years someone would say, HEY! WE BETTER GET OUR NAME TRADEMARKED AND REGISTERED! I don't see why your so upset. Their in Canada playing there and were in the U.S.A. playing here. Besides no one here knows who the hell they are anyway. They don't even have their own web site! Anvilmusic.tk is owned and operated by a fan out of Canada.
This exact same thing happened to the band NIRVANA. They already had their second album out in the stores when a band from New York City saw that the name NIRVANA was not a Trademarked band name. They Trademarked the name and said "Excuse me Mr. Record Company Guys. You're using our name! NIRVANA and the Record Company fail to trademark their name! The record company had to pay this small New York group MILLIONS of dollars to get the rights to the name. I guess if everone wants to cause a big stink over this we could do the same. Personally I could'nt care less. It's just a fucking name. Hell we'll call ourselves "ANVIL X " if that make you happy. It sounds cooler anyway. Geeeeze, Canadians are such big whinners.
P.S. Get a life!

The story is that site announces a band that uses the name of ANVIL (already chosen 22 years ago by a band in Canada). They have over 13 albums recorded, work on a 15th and play around the world since 1980. They made the opening forTwisted Sister, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Aerosmith in the 80's, and are considered like the Canadian Metal Pionners. I wonder how a band like yours that likes Pantera, doesn't even know that ANVIL (REAL ONES) influenced Pantera and other bands in the 80's. Search the web for Pantera's interviews and you'll find a few ones where it's mentioned.
This band still kicks ass on stage and doing gigs in bars and festivals in Europe. Here's the website and take a look at their discography, pics and bio www.anvilmetal.tk How can you be so vain and "innocent" (you can have problems guys!) to take their name? I'm going to write LIPS and MASSACRE RECORDS about Copyrights. I think that is MASSACRE that owns the copyrights on their name, for the albums.
A band formed by some honnest musicians can't show such a disrespect.
