      Call for Papers:
Special Session on Computational Intelligence Systems for Society and Policy Support (CIS4SPS) at
The 8th International FLINS Conference on
Computational Intelligence in Decision and Control
      Madrid, Spain, September 21-24, 2008 ( http://www.mat.ucm.es/congresos/flins2008/)
      Background and topics of CIS4SPS:
Humans have a remarkable capability to perform a wide variety of physical and mental tasks without any measurements or any computations. Computerized systems mincing such a human capacity are often referred to AI and computational intelligent systems. Decision support systems with such computerized systems are then called intelligent decision support systems that make decisions based on perceptions.
The special session will cover a balanced mixture of theory and practice including new  methods and developments of computational intelligence applications in Society and Policy Support, including :

      general methodologies,
      case studies,
on-going R&D projects, and practical applications related to AI,
      Soft computing techniques,
      Computational Intelligence,
      web intelligence
      data mining,
      knowledge mobilization, and
digital information retrieval in general and
to  traffic insurance, transportations, natural disaster, risk analysis, safety, pension systems, human resource, sensory evaluation, safeguards, security, situation awareness, counter-terrorisms, public option, emergency responses, and emerging topics of interest in particular.
This special session also welcomes review papers on recent research results, lessons learned and future research directions in line with CIS4SPS.
All submissions to this special session of CIS4SPS should go directly via the FLINS08 online automatic submission program (visit http://www.mat.ucm.es/congresos/flins2008/ and go to the navigation of Paper Submission). Interested authors are invited to submit a paper (4-6 pages) to be prepared according to the publisher's instructions ( http://www.worldscientific.com/style/proceedings_style.shtml select the trim size: 9" x 6"). Please mention your submission is for the Special Session of CIS4SPS and drop an optional email message to Da Ruan at druan@... after you will have submitted a paper to FLINS08.
      January 15, 2008 for a paper submission (4-6 pages)
April 15, 2008 for the final submission to be included in a book form of the FLINS08 proceedings by World Scientific.
      Additional Publications
All accepted papers for the Special Session of CIS4SPS will be further extended and peer-reviewed for publications in Special Issues of Int. J. of Nuclear Knowledge Management ( http://www.wonuc.org/hrm/cijnkm.htm) and Int. J. of Computational Intelligence Systems ( http://www.atlantis-press.com/publications/ijcis/).
