I looked for official news accounts but I couldn't find any for 8/27 Angels Landing fatality (due to heart attack) and 8/28 accident in the East Canyon involving people photographing bighorn sheep and somebody getting hit by a car. I don't think I recall ever hearing ambulance and police sirens in the park and I heard them two days in a row. This is a bad year for Zion hiking/canyoneering accidents.

The Park does not do a Press release on all deaths in the Park. I kinda wish they would, but...

Yeah, lots of Bighorn action combined with a windy road = bad news. Lots of people just stop the car and get out around a sharp turn, oblivious to the fact that they are on a highway.  What could go wrong?
