Good morning everyone:  In case you haven't heard, yesterday the Canadian government banned the sale of incandescent light bulbs effective in 2012.  This morning on CBC (the national broadcaster) I heard a lighting specialist interviewed about the pros and cons of this move.  Virtually the first "con" he mentioned was the mercury issue and the fact that the announcement didn't include a provision for safe disposal.  I got the impression that he and others are expecting a subsequent announcement from the government regarding safe disposal. Since they have already required an EPR program for mercury switches from autos I would expect a similar route.  Good news all around.
