  • I just finished reading the "Strawberry Panic" omnibus manga, and I don't think it's a spoiler to say it cuts off in the middle of the story. Was the end of the story published in Japan but not here, or was the series discontinued before the manga-ka could finish it? I know the anime runs a slightly different story line but at least it's a completed show. Does the novel follow the...

  • Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed "Yuri Monogatari," Vol. 6. My favorite stories were "Cause X Play," "Miho-Chan's Memories," "For the Girl Who Has Everything," "Sinful," "Uninvited Guests," "Speak Love," and "30th Christmas.' Thank you for making these short stories in graphic form available as an old-fashioned "real" book!

  • Thanks for the refresher. It's been a while since I came across the term, obviously. And I'm guessing it's a lot easier to find explanations of manga-related terms on the Internet now than even five years ago. --- In Yuricon@^$1, "EricaF" wrote: > > "Fujoshi" (or fujyoshi) are female otaku who like to watch anime with unrealistic pretty boy...like Free! or Saiyuki. ^_^ I have a...

  • What's "furjoshi" bait? This summer I'm watching my way through "Saiyuki." Zero yuri but classic series. --- In Yuricon@^$1, "iatheia" wrote: > > > > Not much in terms of yuri this season, unfortunately. Perhaps Rozen Maiden will deliver eventually? • I will be glad to volunteer as a guest reviewer, but at the moment I don't have any material to review. If you'd like to assign me a book or DVD, I'll be happy to review it and I'll even return it afterwards if you prefer. • I have the same response for you and Delicious Vodka DeBlair: If it's the odd-numbered years that are good for yuri, and the even-numbered years for yaoi, then I guess we need to look at what's happened ins 2012 that's good for yaoi: although VIZ launched its new yaoi line SbBLime in Dec. most of its activity has been in 2012 w/ both print and e-versions. DMP continues its high...

  • If I remember, Erica, you have this rule of thumb: even years (such as this year, 2012) are good for yuri, odd ones (like next year, 2013) are good for yaoi. Did I get that right? Even if I got it backwards, I found myself thinking while roaming Anime Expo, "Not as much yaoi this year as sometimes, but more yuri than I've ever seen before!" I'll have to see if Comic Con's the same...

  • Are even years such as this one good years for yuri? It seemed that way when I was at Anime Expo. For some reason I noticed a lot of yuri in comparison to the yaoi.

  • Congratulations on getting this blog on Huffington Post and also on your participation in a live chat for HuffPost. Could you please tell me how you did it? Were you invited or did you just post on Quora and it links to HP, or what? I've got some blogs I think would do well on HP, too, so I'd like to know. --- In Yuricon@^$1, "EricaF" wrote: > > Hi all - > > This news is completely...
