      Dear Friends,

You know your body, you know your senses, you know your mind, but you
have not known the best part of yourself.

Meditation is an inward method that can help you to understand all
the levels of the mind, especially the unconscious mind. In the
method of meditation your very desire is to meet God who is within
you, not who is outside. Meditation is something very concrete and
definite that can help your mind to get freedom from all disturbances
      and obstacles.

Meditation is not only a method of calming down the mind; it is a
method of self-training. It is not a passive method nor is it
something negative that makes you hallucinate. Meditation makes you
aware. It is a mirror in which you can see yourself.

In meditation you consciously control your mind and allow your mind
to expand. Mind flowing spontaneously towards its object is
meditation. Concentration means making the mind one-pointed.
Meditation means expanding that one-pointed mind into universality.

When you are concentrating on something, mind flies here and there
and comes back; in meditation it flows without any interruption.
Concentration is narrowing down; meditation is expansion. That
expansion should lead you to the eternal--to samadhi.

      In loving service,

      Swami J
