I think it's an issue with Firefox - IE has no issues with automatically converting web addresses into links. The other way round it is to paste the address into a "insert hyperlink" box when that option is clicked on the Format bar in Yahoo mail.

      Hope that helps.

looks like no one around here interested in this issue.

I think I got part of my problem figured out:  when I use FireFox as my browser
and send out Yahoo emails, people who receive the email will have a problem with links contained within UNLESS they're using Yahoo Mail, too.

So I've switched to Chrome and everything seems fine.   So far.

Subject: [Y-Mail] new Yahoo new problems

I use  Mail  by going to Yahoo.com and selecting Mail.

I resisted the recent upgrade as long as I could.
Yahoo finally boxed me in; I said OKAY.
Now I have so many problems, I don't know where to start.

      1) Any time I hit the  GoBackOnePage (left arrow) I'm sent all the way out
to Yahoo.com and have to reenter Mail.

      2) When doing Reply or Forward I am often presented no tools, no toolbar to work with.

      3) embedded links in emails seem to be getting fudged.

I 've used Yahoo over a decade.  Hate to quit, but right now I can't figure how to continue....

        Henrique,

"Ctrl+0"  (ie. 0 as in a number)  was THE ANSWER!!!!!!!!!  I am most appreciative for the information.  Is there some place where I can look up the various commands in Firefox?

        Than ks again!

        @Russ Kania
Could you, please, try this key combination? "Ctrl+0"
It is supposed to reset any font enlargement when using Firefox. Also, I would like to point that Firefox Beta is still in development stage and because of that is not officially suported.

        All the best.

        Dear Henrique,
Thank you for your help and assistance with my problem.  I installed the Mozilla BETA on my computer.  I am understanding that you think the problem is in Mozilla rather than in Yahoo and my Yahoo Mail account.
After installing the new version, the problem still persists.  It appeared suddenly a couple of days ago.  When I am in my Yahoo Mail Account, all the names of the FOLDERS on the lefthand side seem to be in size 36 font as well as the rest of the page.  When I click (open) any FOLDER  the title-lines of the emails also appear in font 36 or larger.  They are “stacked” on one another in a way that only about 1/10th of the characters (print) is readable.  However, upon clicking (opening) any email, the normal font appears when the whole text appears.  Real weird! or ?
Using the Microsoft Browser Yahoo Mail account is AOK.
I am going to read your other emails.

Firefox is now using faster releases to keep up with new features as fast as Google Chrome does. Instead of wait 6 months for a new release with new features, Mozilla, now, uses a cycle of releases every 6 weeks. Version numbers are, now, useless because every new version is not necessarily a giant improvement when compares to the previous release. Firefox 3.x and 4.x are not being supported anymore because they are not part of the faster release family.
By the way, Firefox 8 will fix the problems related to extension compatibility.

Listen each computer can react differently.. so the wise thing to do if it doesn't require any risk is to try things.. I certainly can't hurt to try 3.6..if other things haven't work why not.. Up to each individual..

Firefox didn't "jump" from 3.6 to 7. There has been a version 4, 5, & 6. The latest version (7.01) has better performance & security, in addition to some interface changes that began in version 5. So yes, it's worth it!

why would it jump from 3.6 to 7 ?

and...what's the difference ...ie, is it worth it or will it just mess things up ?

I can't speak for any of you of course but it works for me..
But what do I know i've only a degree  in computer science and
got my first 286 in 1984.. but don't dare try it because as james
says it's a myth and i'm sure james knows what he' "talking about"..
You just keep struggling with your problems cause firefox 3.6 is a myth
I mean james has tried it and it just doesn't work huh james.

        Actually that could be a myth regarding Firefox 3.6.23, take a look at this. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases/Firefox_3.6_MU --- In Y-Mail@yahoogroups.com, Chuck Neuenschwander <annandchuck@...> wrote: > > > >right, Sassafrass  > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >Subject:Re: [Y-Mail] new Yahoo new problems > > > > > > > > > > > >That version of Firefox is very old, & if I'm not mistaken, Mozilla is ending support for that version soon.
