24615//Help! Yahoo Instant Messanger - turn it off in Mail!
- Mar 18, 2013
i hate messenger, it's extremely intrusive !!!!!!
have tried it several times, but never satisfactory for me.
( also, so many people i never heard of message me !..
messenger spam ?!)
anyhow, the only way i found to get rid of it
was to choose "offline" in the rectangle on the left margin of
not permanent, but seems ok usually...once in awhile someone sneaks in,
no idea how/ why.

Received: Monday, March 18, 2013, 11:35 PMI think with this new version of Yahoo! Mail you just have to click on that little golden lightning-bolt looking icon in the left pane to toggle on and off the Yahoo! Messenger connection. When it's off, the lightning-bolt icon is gray. When it's on, it is golden. If yours is on, just click on it to turn it off.

Opening IM stand-alone then gets very confusing with multiple non-functional windows. The old version if Mail had a way to disable it.
