      Am using fop 0.20.4 (on windows 2000). Came back after a couple of weeks
      break and something is perplexing me.

      Use external parsed entities. My xml file begins:

      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
      <!DOCTYPE SYSTEM "..\..\DTDs\Publication\pub_wrapper_xml.dtd"
      [<!ENTITY % adhocentities SYSTEM "adhoc_universe.ent" >
      %adhocentities;
      ]>

      adhoc_universe.ent contains:

      <!ENTITY surveys3776004 SYSTEM
      "\\ntserver7\s4test\production\product\surveys\sgml\include\004\surveys_3776
      _004.sgm">
      <!ENTITY surveys3776005 SYSTEM
      "\\ntserver7\s4test\production\product\surveys\sgml\include\005\surveys_3776
      _005.sgm">
      <!ENTITY surveys3776027 SYSTEM
      "\\ntserver7\s4test\production\product\surveys\sgml\include\027\surveys_3776
      _027.sgm">
      <!ENTITY surveys3776006 SYSTEM
      "\\ntserver7\s4test\production\product\surveys\sgml\include\006\surveys_3776
      _006.sgm">

      Now I could have sworn that this was working fine the last time I tried (as
      all the entity files in my test directory use this syntax) however I'm now
      getting a connection refused error. If I change the path to
      "j:\production\product\surveys\sgml\include\004\surveys_3776_004.sgm" works
      fine, however don't really want to do this.

      Anybody have any suggestions and what is the standard for this?

      I notice that in saxon to get my pathnames recognized I have to use this
      syntax ///production\product\fpir\sgml\include\001\fpir_3776_001.sgm

      Any help would of course be appreciated.

      Thanks,

      Dan Whitney
