Why is Ethical behavior so much dismissed?
Maybe, IMO it is because it is not culturally important or there is just a lot of confusion and lack of empathy for others. Which cultures are less mean? I think some European countries are more compassionate.
Here's a typical article on one aspect of this subject, but the conclusion seems to just be that it is just the way humans are. IMO if children are treated with compassion and at the same time taught the art of empathy by example rather than reliance on an Authority figure to tell them what is right or wrong.
