I have just reread and rethought the excellent article in the New York Times of Michael Pollan - http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/12/magazine/12policy-t.html?pagewanted=all.

And what strikes me above all, in addition to the sheer lucidity and quality of his contribution, is the extent to which in so many places you could almost substitute the word mobility for food. Basically he is making the case for “new” versus “old” food, much as we are trying to do in our patch here at the New Mobility Agenda.

My fervent hope is that in the forthcoming (this winter one hopes if we can find some support for it) special edition of the Journal of World Transport Policy & Practice on New Mobility, there will be pieces of comparable lucidity. We still need to make our case to become a major player. This is part of the process.

I can only invite you to pitch in and help make it happen. Your children and grandchildren will be proud of you for trying.
