      Dear all

GEHL Architects -Urban Quality Consultants from Copenhagen, have
carried out at survey on Public Spaces/Public Life in central London
commisioned by Transport for London and Central London Partnership.

This study is part of the overall Congestion Charge strategy, the idea
being that now when traffic has been reduced by almost 20%, this extra
capacity should imediately be given to other roadspace users i.e.
pedestrians and bicyclists. (Both groups are presently offered appaling
      conditions in London)

The study "Towards a fine City for People" (London 2004) was launched
by Mayor Ken Livingstone and Lord Richard Rogers of Riverside (chief
advisor on Architecture and Urbanism) on 22 june 2004.

The report "Towards a fine City for People" can be seen or downloaded
from www.gehlarchitects.dk (the file is found under "projects"
      ,"London" )

      For your information and inspiration.
      Have fun

      and many warm greetings
      from your

      Jan Gehl
