ALL of the "services & benefits" in the Dunk list below can be FAR better provided without the meddling, regulations and taxation of the State, by voluntary private individuals acting in their own rational self interest ... at FAR less cost and FAR higher quality.

Republicans are no more likely to support peace, prosperity and freedom than are democrats. They're both wings of the tyrannical Imperial Presidency Party that is destroying civilization.

Bob Gregory WWP Member (rhgusn@...) Thank you! You have just made an excellent point. The government is doing huge numbers of things and providing "free" "benefits" that the Constitution does not give it the power to do and paying for those things with money taken forcefully from the more productive people in the society.

The government has become just one great big middleman, making itself look good and benevolent by forcing people to pay for benefits for other people and skimming off probably 30% in between.

Below the highlighting indicates various statuses.

Red marks things not authorized to Congress or the Federal government by the Constitution.

Yellow marks things that ARE withing the constitutional authority of the federal government.

Green marks things that are within responsibility or authority of state and local governments.

Orange is for functions within the private sector.

      White marks debatable areas.

      Lavender marks stupid subjects.
