  • Hi everyone, I experienced tonight one of the visual pleasures that only a short focal length refractor can provide. I was centering Saturn in the field of view of my M80 ED using a wide field eyepiece when I noticed a concentration of stars at the upper edge of the FOV. I moved the scope to see what object it was, and I recognized M44 (aka Beehive or Praesepe), then I put a 2...

  • Hi Rudi, does the orion 80ED mounting block have more than one threaded hole (or one threaded and one unthreaded at least)? If it has more than one, I can recommend our adapter (the 6" one), but if it has only one, I don't think it would be safe to use our adapter and instead would recomend that you use tube rings and a dovetail (like our 8" model). • Rick, thanks for your positive comments. You are right, I designed them initially for the 1 threaded hole/1 unthreaded hole L-brackets, but the new batch just coming out has the threaded hole for the stud centrally located and one counter bored slot on each end, which would allow you to use 1 1/4-20 screw (2 are included with the bracket) on each of the holes of the "new" L-bracket...

I also own a WO scope (Megrez 80II ED) and a Meade LXD75 mount and because there was no...

  • Dan, I Live in north Phoenix where there is considerable light pollution (the dimmest stars I can see naked eye are about 4th mag). This is my experience with light pollution filters: I first bought a Meade 908B(broadband)1.25". Only a slight improvement on the brighter nebulas (Orion, Ring and Dumbbell) with my 8" reflector, no improvement at all with the Megrez 80 ED. Then I got...

  • Hi, I would like the 132 F/7 in A1 with either C2/C6 or C5/C6 trim. I think asking for our preferences before introducing a new product is a great sign of respect and appreciation for your customers. Thanks, Raul. --- In William-Optics@^$1, "williamoptics2004" wrote: > > Dear member, > > What would you like to see first by coming 2006? > > 1. 90 F/7 APO > 2. 132 F/7 APO > 3. 155 F...

  • Daniel, Thanks for the good news about the 1.25" mirror diagonal (I am also interested in it for binoviewer usage with my M80II ED). Independently of which diagonal I end up using, I am sure sure I am going to have a lot of fun with that little scope... • John, thanks for your input. You're right, these scopes are designed to work with WO's SCT diagonal. However, the ZS66 SD has a slightly shorter focal length and if the OTA has not been made proportionally shorter, that difference may allow a 1.25" diagonal to work. In any case, I will try a generic 1.25" diagonal by itself and with an extender to see what works before investing in...
