WillardFest Pre-Events - Please Join Us!
- This week marks the start of the pre-events for Willard Fest.
Tuesday, June 19th; 7:00pm - Learn more about the history of South Portland at "Greeting from South Portland"
Maine State Historian, Earle G. Shettleworth, Jr. will be taking us back to the first half of the 20th century, to tell the story of South Portland through vintage postcards. Join Mr. Shettleworth at Hildreth 101 auditorium on the SMCC campus beginning at 7:00 pm. The auditorium will be open to the public at 6:45 pm.
If you have ever had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Shettleworth speak, you know you don�t want to miss this!
Friday, June 22 - Willard Square Movie Nite; 8:00 pm
Bring a blanket and kids in their jammies for our first-ever Movie Night. Meet your neighbors under the oak tree next to Bathras Market for a family friendly movie. And vote for your favorite movie on our WillardFest! Facebook page!
Saturday, June 23 8:30 am - Willard to Bug Fun Run/Walk
Lace up your sneakers, lasso your pup and meet your neighbors at Willard Square for a dog friendly fun run/walk. Registration begins at 8:00 am, before the departure at 8:30 am. Humans must be 18 years of age or have a guardian's signature. The running/walking route starts at Willard Square, travels along Preble street, down Willard Street, along Willard Beach to Spring Point Shore Way Trail via Beach Street entrance, then on to the Greenbelt Trail, finishing at Bug Light, where participants will find refreshments.
