Reminder: 445.125 SSTV repeater available for Field Day
- Just a reminder that the SSTV repeater on 445.125 is operational and available for Field Day use. Although you can't log a contact (repeaters aren't allowed), the SSTV demonstration is worth 100 points by itself.
I am hoping that everyone will at least take a picture from their FD site and send it through the repeater for others to see. No special equipment is needed, just a laptop running SSTV software (such as MMSSTV) and a 440 radio. Just run an audio cable from the speaker jack of the radio to the laptop's mic jack to receive, and hold the mic up to the laptop speakers to transmit.
To use the repeater, send a 1750 Hz tone for about a second (in MMSSTV, click the 1750 button to start it and click it again to stop), then when you hear the "K", send your picture.
Please use Scottie 1 or Scottie 2 mode, as Robot 36 (and any other mode with a resolution other than 256 lines) locks up the repeater. An upgrade will be installed on Monday which will fix that problem, and also eliminate the need for the 1750 Hz tone.
The machine automatically transmits weather radar images every 10 minutes, so if any storms develop, you can use this to track them.
